Credentials:
Position : Investment Research Analyst
Experience : 1+ year (Fresher with Strong Writing skills)
Shift Timing : 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Job Profile : An investment research firm focused on analyzing and tracking the US stock market and economy, is looking for analysts with a passion for the markets.
The Role:
Analyzing news and economic releases which impact the markets
Creating reports for individual stocks across industries and firm sizes
Help create broader industry reports for various industry groups
Bottom up and top down analysis of companies
Skills:
This role will entail a lot of report and analytic writing - thus fantastic communication skills are an absolute must. Please do not apply if your written English skills are not excellent.
Clear idea of how the economy affects markets and economic analysis for top down analysis
Financial Statements Analysis to evaluate stocks for a bottom up analysis - essential for this role
They use quite a bit of Technical Analysis - thus any experience or knowledge will be helpful
Basic data analysis skills using Excel or other statistical software
The Ideal Candidate:Is interested and passionate about financial markets
Will have an MBA, preferably from a top tier school. We do not care about the school if you are good and believe you have the skills and the interest.
Has shown some progress towards the CFA designation (passed Level I or II).
Will have great written and spoken communication skill, in English.
Will have experience working with financial data, preferably with large data providers like Bloomberg, Morningstar, Thomson Reuters, SNL etc.
The Team:The analyst will join a small team of MBAs led by a Head of Research. The Research Head is a CFA Charter Holder and visiting faculty for a top 10 B-School with extensive financial markets experience, most of it based out of New York, for leading buy-side and financial services firms.
Successful candidates will be directly trained by the Head of Research, while working on live projects.
